Giving Is… on replay.
I’m so predictable. Start with beautiful vocals (young female indie or fresh male artist), throw in piano and some unique percussion and it’s on repeat 1 until I’m air playing every nuance like it’s an autonomic reflex. There’s something about finding the perfect song that makes everything right again for that 4 minutes and 13 seconds. I am happy – feeling, reminiscing, indulging, or living a story. When the song ends, I repeat it over and over and over again. Because music can elicit such a strong response, when I share a playlist of my favorite songs, I can’t help but feel like I’m also giving a part of myself.
This particular playlist was made for my sister. She’s the most important person in my life; yet, I’m not there for her daily because I’m perpetually a plane ride away. This playlist isn’t much, but I was hoping it could at least make her smile when I’m not able to in the flesh. Despite some nervousness on my part, I’ve decided to share it with the web as well in hopes that I could spread the joy, one song at a time.
